On March 22, the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas commemorated the 20th anniversary of the death of Ahmad Yassin, one of its founders. Yassin was killed by the Israeli military in Gaza. Due to ongoing conflict in the region, Hamas limited its celebrations to social media posts this year. The anniversary fell on the second Friday of Ramadan.

Ahmad Yassin was born in 1936 or 1938 in the village of Al-Jura in the Gaza Strip. At a young age, he was paralyzed after a fall while playing football and did not receive formal religious education. However, he studied Islam extensively with private teachers and later became involved with the Islamist movement Muslim Brotherhood while studying English in Egypt at Ain Shams University.

After returning to Gaza, Yassin advocated for strict adherence to Sharia law among Palestinian youth who were mostly focused on ideas from the Palestine Liberation Organization at the time. He founded the Palestinian Muslim Brotherhood and Islamic Congress and became one of the founders of Hamas in 1987, where he was considered as spiritual leader and main ideologist of the organization. Despite being arrested and imprisoned multiple times by Israeli authorities for seditious activities and later put under house arrest by Palestinian Authority, Yassin continued to be an influential figure in Hamas until his elimination by Israeli Air Force in 2004.

The content that follows appears to be unrelated and focused on topics such as steroid use and gaming, which does not seem to relate directly to Ahmad Yassin’s life or legacy as a founder of Hamas.
