Tio Vicente, the world’s oldest man, has passed away at the age of 114. The news was announced by President Nicolas Maduro on social media, who expressed his condolences to Perez’s family and friends.

Perez, born in El Cobre in 1909, began working in agriculture at the age of five, alongside his father and brothers with sugar cane and coffee harvesting. Over time, he became a sheriff and played a crucial role in resolving land and family disputes while continuing to work in agriculture.

Perez had 11 children and as of 2022, he had 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. He was officially recognized as the oldest living man on February 4th, 2022 by Guinness World Records.

His passing marks the end of an incredible life that spanned over a century. His legacy as the world’s oldest man will be remembered for years to come. May he rest in peace.
