The Amarillo City Council recently approved three development agreements that will enable the construction of the Kids Inc sports complex in south Amarillo. The partners involved in this project include Amarillo Economic Development Corporation, Attebury Elevators and Rockrose Development, who will contribute $7.5 million, $4.6 million and $3 million respectively for infrastructure such as water, utilities, streets and a parking lot.

As tax collections increase from development in a designated zone at the intersection of Loop 335 and I-27, the partners will be reimbursed over time for their contributions. This initiative represents a collaborative effort to enhance sports and recreational opportunities in the Amarillo community. With the support of the partners and the city council’s approval, the construction of the Kids Inc sports complex is expected to move forward smoothly. Copyright 2024 KFDA. All rights reserved.
