President Biden’s campaign is set to launch a new ad during his visit to Pennsylvania, showcasing his support for organized labor and taking aim at the economic policies of former President Donald J. Trump. The ad, featuring JoJo Burgess, a steelworker and mayor of Washington, Pa., praises Mr. Biden as the most pro-American worker president in history.

The campaign has invested in an ad buy in Pennsylvania separately from its larger campaign across battleground states, hoping to strengthen Mr. Biden’s message on the importance of Pennsylvania in his re-election strategy. The ad portrays Mr. Biden as a champion for workers and accuses Mr. Trump of favoring billionaires over working Americans.

During his visit to Scranton, his hometown, Mr. Biden criticized Mr. Trump’s wealth and inherited fortune, contrasting it with his own background. In addition to the Burgess ad running on television and digital platforms, another shorter ad will also be released for digital platforms, with Burgess defending Mr. Biden’s mental fitness against attacks from Mr. Trump and other Republicans.

As the first Black mayor of Washington, Pa., Burgess is a prominent supporter of Mr. Biden and has accompanied the president to the State of the Union address. The campaign hopes that these ads featuring Burgess will enhance Mr. Biden’s image as a strong advocate for labor and working families, especially in critical swing states like Pennsylvania.

The new ad is expected to further reinforce Mr. Biden’s message on organized labor and criticize former President Trump’s economic policies that negatively impacted American workers.

In Pittsburgh, during his visit to United Steelworkers union headquarters, he is expected to call for increased tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from China which could help protect American jobs in critical industries such as steel manufacturing.

Overall this campaign move highlights how important Pennsylvania is for President Joe Biden’s re-election strategy and how he plans to use it as an opportunity to showcase his support for workers and organized labor while criticizing former President Trump’s economic policies that harm American workers!
