Israeli officials held a meeting to discuss the possibility of an immediate strike against Iran, according to reports from Israeli media. However, after speaking with President Biden and Prime Minister Netanyahu, it appears that a strike is less likely. The Israeli government is now stating that they will take action whenever they see fit.

Israel has several options for military engagement within Iran, including targeting the government, IRGC, and nuclear sites. However, a senior administration official said today that Israel has made it clear they are not looking for a significant escalation with Iran. This suggests they are not currently planning a direct attack on Iran.

The United States has reiterated its long-standing policy of staying out of any response Israel may undertake in regards to Iran. This serves as a message to Israel that they would be on their own if they chose to attack Iran. The administration is focusing on diplomacy, working to isolate Iran through sanctions and terrorism designations while also trying to prevent Israel from becoming isolated by garnering support from European Union and U.N. diplomats.

President Hertzog of Israel emphasized that his country is not seeking war but will carefully consider how to respond in light of recent statements from European Union and U.N. diplomats showing support towards Israel and condemnation towards Iran.
