Software giant Globant SA is revolutionizing the post-pandemic work environment. Led by CEO Martin Migoya, the company has implemented a fully remote work policy for its nearly 30,000 employees across 33 countries. In contrast to other tech companies mandating a return to the office, Globant has created a more flexible and welcoming environment that encourages in-person interactions.

Despite its remote work policy, Globant has been expanding its office space and has seen a natural return of employees to the office. Migoya emphasized that the company is not forcing employees to come back to the office but rather creating an environment that makes it easy for them to collaborate and engage with one another.

Migoya shared that while his initial impulse was to make everyone come back to the office, he has since realized the value of allowing employees to work remotely and only return when necessary. The company has redesigned its offices post-pandemic, with round tables for group collaboration, lounge spaces, and private meeting areas.

Globant’s clients include the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, and as part of a $1 billion investment, the company is in the process of hiring an additional 20,000 employees over the next five years. The company is also expanding beyond its large hub in Buenos Aires with new locations like Tandil, which previously lacked a tech presence.

Migoya emphasizes flexibility as key to Globant’s approach to the post-pandemic work environment. He believes that the office should serve as an attraction point for employees to come together and engage with one another rather than just being a place to work.
