On March 28 at around 11:30 p.m., a burglar was caught on security cameras smashing through a downtown Bakersfield business. The incident occurred when officers were called to a burglary in progress at a business on E Street.

Upon arrival, an officer found the suspect still inside the building. Edited surveillance footage showed the suspect breaking in and appearing to take eyeglasses. At one point, the suspect noticed a camera and knocked it over. The suspect was ordered out of the building but tried to run off. However, he was quickly chased down and arrested by the officers.
