Nu:ionic Technologies has made bold claims about the efficiency of their microwave catalyst reforming (MCR™) technology, which converts energy into hydrogen by using renewable electricity to power the reforming of gas feedstocks like methane and biogas. The Canadian-based start-up has successfully run a 100kW unit for 48 hours continuously in March of 2024, bringing them one step closer to commercializing the MCR technology. In the future, the company plans to deploy two demonstration units to further showcase their innovative technology.
