The Central Oregon Sportsplex Alliance is a community-driven organization that aims to bring top-quality sports facilities to the region. Their vision includes developing a multi-sport facility with multiple turf fields for soccer, lacrosse, rugby, baseball, and softball, as well as indoor multi-use turf fields, ice sports development areas, and potentially commercial sports, retail, hotel, and RV park amenities.
The CO Sportsplex Alliance is committed to ensuring that all youth in Central Oregon have access to high-quality facilities and training opportunities. They believe that every child should have the opportunity to participate in sports without barriers. To achieve this goal, they plan to establish and administer scholarship funds.
During a meeting with the Bend Park and Rec Board, Derek Berry, the president of the CO Sportsplex Alliance, presented their plan. He emphasized the significance of this project and its potential for success with sufficient support. Julie Brown, Communications & Community Relations Manager for Bend Parks & Rec, expressed the organization’s dedication to providing recreational spaces within the community. She highlighted the potential for partnerships to enhance recreational opportunities and mentioned the board’s interest in exploring the Sportsplex Alliance’s concept further.
The Sportsplex Alliance has identified Redmond at the Fairgrounds and Expo Center as their preferred location for the facility. Although the project is estimated to require substantial funding from private donations and public partnerships
