The weekend promises to be a busy one for NASCAR fans, with two national series taking place at Richmond Raceway. On Saturday, the Xfinity teams will kick off their season with a packed schedule of practice, qualifying, and racing at the .75-mile Virginia track. Meanwhile, Cup teams will prepare for Sunday’s primetime race by practicing and qualifying on Saturday.

In addition to these races, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour teams will also be in action on Friday at Richmond. Last season saw Chandler Smith win the Xfinity race and Kyle Larson take home the spring Cup race title.

The weather for the weekend is looking promising, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 67 degrees on Friday, a cloudy day with a high of 71 degrees on Saturday, and a high of 70 degrees on Sunday with a 33% chance of rain at the start of the Cup race.

Trackhouse Racing drivers Daniel Suarez and Ross Chastain are looking to secure their team’s second win of the season at Richmond on Saturday. On Friday, the garage opens at 9:30 a.m. for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, followed by Xfinity Series activities from 12 – 5 p.m., and Cup Series activities from 4 – 9 p.m., which includes Modified Tour practice, qualifying, and the Modified Tour race consisting of 150 laps totaling 112.5 miles.

On Saturday, the garage opens at 6:30 a.m., first for Xfinity Series activities and then at 8 am for Cup Series activities. Track activities include Xfinity practice and qualifying as well as Cup practice and qualifying throughout the day. The Xfinity race featuring 250 laps totaling
