Lola Cars, an iconic motorsport brand, has announced a new partnership with Yamaha Motor Company to compete in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. This partnership will introduce an evolution of the current GEN3 race car, starting in the 2024/25 season.

Heiji Maruyama, Managing Executive Officer and Director at Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd., expressed excitement about the collaboration and emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainability through research and development of new technologies. The partnership with Lola in Formula E represents an opportunity to advance energy management technologies through high-level electric racing, aligning with both companies’ philosophy of sustainable motorsport.

Mark Preston, Motorsport Director at Lola Cars Ltd, highlighted the opportunity for technological development and expressed excitement about returning to Formula E. Lola Cars has a history of success in chassis and aerodynamic design, and this project will focus on creating a unique electrified platform with software at its core.
