An 8-year-old girl from Indiana has recently made headlines for her drone footage that earned her recognition at the AZDroneFest International Film Festival. Louisa Royer, a third-grader at Evansville Day School, received a Guinness World Record for being the world’s youngest drone videographer. She brought her drone on trips to various countries and her teacher encouraged her to submit her footage to film festivals.

Royer shared that she asked for a drone as a gift because she loves science and enjoys exploring the world from a different viewpoint. Her passion for drones led her to learn how to safely fly them in different locations and countries, requiring constant awareness of her surroundings to avoid obstacles like airports, power lines, or trees.

While watching YouTube videos, Royer came across a 13-year-old boy who used drones for mapping, inspiring her to pursue a Guinness World Records title. At 8 years and 258 days old, she became the youngest female drone videographer in the world. Royer expressed her excitement about receiving her Guinness World Record certificate, describing the experience as amazing and feeling proud to have her friends and family support her accomplishment.

As an avid explorer of new technology and experiences, Royer plans on continuing to use his drones for capturing stunning footage of different parts of the world while also using it as an educational tool in school.
