The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the University is commemorating its 45th anniversary this year, having been established in 1979 at Saint Francis. Jeff Boldizar, the current executive director of the SBDC since 1985, guides clients through the intricate process of launching successful businesses. The center’s objective is to aid businesses in the Southern Alleghenies region, providing support to entrepreneurs in Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Fulton, Huntington and Somerset counties.

The SBDC’s consultants, such as Terrence Anderson, work with a diverse range of small businesses across various industries including retail, wholesale, manufacturing service businesses brick-and-mortar stores and online stores. What sets their job apart is the opportunity to work with a wide variety of companies. By assisting small businesses in their launch, growth and prosperity, the SBDC aligns with the University’s mission to create and sustain employment opportunities improve existing businesses and promote economic development in the region.
