Kate Gutman has been named as the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Ziff Davis’ technology media group, which includes PCMag, Mashable, Lifehacker, and Spiceworks. She will be reporting to Steve Horowitz, who is the president of Ziff Davis’ Technology and Shopping Division. According to Horowitz, Gutman’s appointment was driven by her extensive experience in leading editorial organizations, building audiences, and driving diversified revenue growth.

Gutman’s career in digital media has spanned over 20 years. Prior to joining Ziff Davis, she served as Senior Vice President of Content Ventures at Gannett where she managed a portfolio of digital growth businesses and new ventures focused on attracting new audiences and expanding revenue streams through initiatives like affiliate commerce, video, brand licensing, and new subscription products. Before that, she led the digital business at A+E Television Networks International where she played a key role in growing digital revenue through content distribution, launching international SVOD services, and revamping TV channels like History En Espanol.

Gutman holds an MBA from Columbia University with a concentration in management and a BA in economics from Cornell University. She is also known for her senior digital and business strategy positions at companies like Reader’s Digest/Trusted Brands, Rodale, Bertelsmann, Lagardère Group among others.
