At the G7 summit, President Zelenskyy expressed anticipation for important decisions to be made, as he prepares to sign security agreements with both Japan and the United States. The G7 countries had previously agreed to use future interest from frozen Russian assets, amounting to about $300bn, to provide a $50bn loan to Ukraine. This financial support is crucial for Ukraine’s defence and economic resilience, given the ongoing conflict with Russia.
