A young girl playing with friends was attacked by a neighbor’s dog, resulting in a 20 cm long wound on her head. The 11-year-old was rushed to the district medical center for treatment of injuries to her ears, back, and shoulders, as well as the severe wound on her head. Due to the gravity of her condition, she was later transferred to the provincial hospital for further care.
At the hospital, doctors thoroughly cleaned and sutured the wound on her head, while also treating the other injuries she sustained. A CT scan was conducted to evaluate the extent of damage, but no abnormalities were discovered. The girl has been given anti-rabies serum and is currently undergoing active treatment.
It is crucial that parents take precautions when caring for young children who are unable to protect themselves from potential harm. They should prevent children from coming into close contact with dogs to avoid any attacks. In case of a dog bite, it is essential to immediately clean the wound with clean water or soapy water before seeking medical attention for treatment and vaccination.
Pet owners must also ensure their animals are fully vaccinated and keep them away from roaming freely on public streets. Dogs and pets should be kept in a muzzle while outside to prevent them from attacking others.
