The Women’s Business Alliance North has been recognized as the 2024 Women’s Business Center of Excellence. This accolade was bestowed upon the organization by the Small Business Administration, and it is operated by the Entrepreneur Fund. The Women’s Business Alliance North offers support and resources to women entrepreneurs in Minnesota.

The honor was celebrated with a gathering at Mexico Lindo, which is owned by a WBA North client, Lorena Velez. Velez spoke passionately about the importance of having a supportive community of women, especially as a minority business owner. She expressed her gratitude for the counseling and advice provided by WBA North, which has played a crucial role in her success. Since taking over ownership of the restaurant at Fitger’s in 2020, Velez has thrived with the support of WBA North.
