On Sunday, the Wisconsin football team extended an offer to three-star class of 2026 defensive lineman King Liggins. Liggins, a 6-foot-4, 265-pound player from Brother Rice High School in Illinois, is the third defensive lineman from the 2026 class to receive an offer from the Badgers since late May. He joins four-star DL Gabriel Hill and four-star EDGE McHale Blade in this group.

Liggins holds a total of 11 offers, including from schools like Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Kansas State, Iowa State, and Miami. Despite no crystal ball predictions from 247Sports, On3’s recruiting prediction machine currently heavily favors Kansas State as Liggins’ top choice at this stage.

Meanwhile, Wisconsin’s recruitment efforts for the class of 2025 seem to be going well as they have received eight new commitments since official visits began in June. Among the defensive priorities for Wisconsin’s 2025 class are DL recruits Drayden Pavey, Wilnerson Telemaque, and Kyler Garcia. However, despite offering 11 defensive linemen for the class of 2026, Wisconsin has yet to receive a commitment from any of them.

The team’s defensive line depth chart for the upcoming season includes players like James Thompson Jr., Curt Neal, Ben Barten, Elijah Hills (a transfer), and Brandon Lane (a flipped transfer commit from Louisville). Overall, it seems that Wisconsin is making progress in its recruitment efforts but still needs to close some deals before they can have a complete picture of their roster for next season.
