The Chianti Wine Consortium is set to host the next stages of the “Chianti lovers Asian Tour 2024” in Thailand and Vietnam. The tour will feature two institutional seminars with tastings of Chianti DOCG denomination’s main categories, styles, and sub-areas. This tour follows previous events in Tokyo/Seoul and their participation in Vinexpo Asia 2024 in Hong Kong.
The first seminar will take place on June 25th in Bangkok, Thailand, at the Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit. With 64 labels present, the focus will be on the typology of Chianti DOCG Riserva. The seminar will be conducted by Sariya Kampanathsanyakorn, WSET Wine Educator, and Luca Alves, Chianti Wine Ambassador. There will also be a “walk around tasting” open to importers, sector operators, and the press.
On June 27th, the consortium will transfer to Vietnam to the Park Hyatt Hotel in Ho Chi Minh. This event will feature 67 labels and will focus on Vin Santo del Chianti DOC. The seminar will be conducted by Tu Le Huy, president of the Saigon Sommelier Association, and Luca Alves, Chianti Wine Ambassador. Like the Thailand event, there will be tastings open to importers, sector operators, and the press.
