Science fiction film Resistor, based on Daniel Suarez’s novel Influx, is set to star Will Smith. The project has been in development for some time, with two different drafts of the script written by Zak Olkewicz and Eric Singer. Initially attached to direct was S.F. Wilson, but currently, the film does not have a director.

The plot details of Resistor are still unknown, but based on the book synopsis, it revolves around physicist Jon Grady and his team who discover a device that can reflect gravity. However, their lab is locked down by a covert organization called the Bureau of Technology Control, which aims to suppress the truth of technological progress to prevent social upheaval. Grady and his team are imprisoned but must work together to expose a powerful enemy with a technological advantage.

Resistor promises to be a thrilling science fiction film that explores the consequences of advanced technology in the wrong hands. It does not yet have a release date, but with Will Smith starring and an experienced team behind it, it is sure to be an exciting addition to the sci-fi genre.
