Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, has shared his thoughts on AI technology in a recent interview with YouTuber Kallaway. While AI is expected to become a common part of our daily lives, Zuckerberg suggested that the focus should not be on building one central AI but rather on creating multiple programs.

Meta’s approach to AI is different from that of other major companies like Google and OpenAI, who are working on developing a main AI such as Gemini and Chat GPT respectively. Instead, Meta aims to build different AIs that reflect people’s diverse interests and needs. The company concentrates on building the underlying technology, known as Llama, to empower businesses and creators to develop their own AIs tailored to the requirements of their communities.

Zuckerberg emphasized that the concept of an all-knowing AI does not appeal to him and does not align with Meta’s vision. He believes that AI technology should not be hoarded and creating one ultimate AI is not the right approach. Currently, Meta is testing a beta version of its Creator AI which allows creators like Kallaway to experiment with the software and experience the benefits of a streamlined AI designed for their specific audiences. In April 2024, Meta released Llama 3 as part of their ongoing effort to support businesses and creators in developing customized AI solutions.
