Alfie Hewett, a British wheelchair tennis player, had his dream of winning the French Open men’s singles title shattered in the semi-finals by Gustavo Fernandez of Argentina. Despite previously winning the title in 2017, 2020, and 2021, Hewett lost a tough match 7-5 6-7 (1-7) 6-2. However, there is still hope for him as he still has a chance to win in the men’s doubles alongside Gordon Reid. The top seeds are aiming for their fifth consecutive Roland Garros title after wins in each year since 2020. They will face Fernandez and Frenchman Stephane Houdet in the semi-finals.

In women’s wheelchair doubles, Lucy Shuker and her Colombian partner Angelica Bernal were knocked out in the quarter-finals by top seeds Yui Kamiji of Japan and Kgothatso Montjane of South Africa. The pair lost 6-3 7-5 in a hard-fought match.
