West Ham’s season can be described as a progression, despite not achieving the same level of success as the previous year. The team finished in ninth place under David Moyes, which was a significant improvement from their previous performances. However, the disappointment came after the Christmas period when their performance declined following wins against top teams like Manchester United and Arsenal.

The biggest success for West Ham this season was Jarrod Bowen’s performance. With 16 goals in the Premier League, he proved to be a real threat both on the wing and in a central role. The fact that he signed a contract until 2030 in October is an indication that there is more to come from him.

On the other hand, West Ham faced frustration during their matches against Bayer Leverkusen. Although they came close to drawing in the first leg, they lost a late goal that made it much harder for them to win in the return leg. Despite taking an early lead, they eventually ran out of steam towards the end of the match.

Looking ahead to next season, West Ham’s key priority is for Julen Lopetegui to settle quickly into his new role as coach. With experience at top clubs like Sevilla, Real Madrid, and Spain, Lopetegui has high expectations for himself and his team. However, there are concerns about his track record with some pointing to his time at Sevilla where the team struggled and his departure from Wolves over financial issues.

Overall, despite some disappointments this season, West Ham has shown signs of progress under Moyes and with Lopetegui leading the way next season; they have every reason to be optimistic about their future prospects in the Premier League.
