West Ham is in a race to sign former Chelsea forward, Tammy Abraham, as they search for a long-term replacement for Michail Antonio and Danny Ings. The team’s manager, Julen Lopetegui, is focusing on signing a striker for the summer transfer window.

Abraham is of interest to West Ham and Roma is willing to sell him this summer as they look to raise funds for their rebuilding efforts after missing out on Champions League qualification. Despite a strong first season in Rome where Abraham scored 27 goals and won the Europa Conference League in the 2021-22 season, he struggled in his subsequent seasons, scoring only eight league goals before missing a significant portion of the last season due to an ACL injury.

The 26-year-old forward is considering a return to the Premier League as he aims to make a comeback to the England national team, having not been capped since June 2022. Roma is expected to set an asking price of €30m (£25.2m) for Abraham but may accept an offer closer to €25m (£21m) as they aim to reduce his salary from their wage bill.

Aston Villa and Tottenham have also been mentioned as potential destinations for Abraham. Aston Villa, in particular, is looking to add competition for Ollie Watkins ahead of their Champions League campaign, with Abraham having previously had a successful loan spell at the club in the 2018-19 season. However, West Ham seems to be leading the charge in acquiring his services, with Villa and Tottenham falling behind in the race.
