Gerwyn Price will not be competing in the 2024 BetVictor World Cup of Darts due to health issues. However, he is still well-wishing his teammates as they aim to bring back the title once again. Jim Williams, who is the next highest-ranked Welsh player on the PDC Order of Merit, will be stepping in to partner Clayton this time around.

Price and Jonny Clayton had previously won the World Cup together, but with Price’s absence, Williams will be making his World Cup debut this weekend in Frankfurt. Despite being disappointed about missing out on the event, Price expressed his excitement for Williams’ opportunity to play at such a high level.

The draw has already been made for the group stage of the World Cup of Darts and Wales remains as second seeds. This means that they will enter the event in the second round on Saturday at Eissporthalle. The Wales team is looking forward to continuing their success in the Doubles event and aiming for another victory in this prestigious tournament.
