In the 2023 election, Weld County introduced a new security measure for the first time. The county served as a pilot program for high resolution images that were only visible under special equipment, printed on paper stock. This technology, known as GHOSTmark, aimed to ensure the integrity and security of the election process. The ballots were made on special paper stock, which contained images that could only be seen with special equipment. Weld County’s initiative to implement this unique security feature was part of a pilot program to test its effectiveness and potential for future use.
