As the 2024 NFL season approaches, the Arizona Cardinals are preparing for their opening game against the Buffalo Bills on September 8. With only 80 days remaining until kickoff, excitement is building among fans and players alike.

Currently, tight end Bernhard Seikovits is wearing the No. 80 jersey for the Cardinals. Seikovits has been with the team for three seasons on the practice squad with an international exemption. While he is well-liked by his teammates and coaches, he has yet to make a significant impact that would earn him a spot on the 53-man roster.

Throughout its history, the No. 80 jersey has belonged to some of the Cardinals’ most memorable players. Early Doucet, for example, wore that number during his time with the team and made some contributions to its offense. Doucet had 57 receptions over three seasons and had a standout performance in the 2009 postseason. However, despite his efforts, Doucet was never able to establish himself as a key player for the Cardinals and eventually changed his number to 85 before leaving the team after five seasons.

As we look back at the history of No. 80 for the Cardinals, it’s clear that making a lasting impact in that jersey is no easy feat. But with just over two months left until kickoff, Seikovits and other members of the team are determined to give their all and make this season one to remember.
