The Golden State Warriors are currently exploring trades for star players after failing to acquire Paul George. According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the team is interested in bringing in star forward Lauri Markkanen from the Utah Jazz. Windhorst mentioned on his podcast that Markkanen is available on the trade market and the Warriors are investigating the possibility of acquiring him.

The San Antonio Spurs are also reportedly interested in trading for Markkanen, and teams in discussions with the Jazz believe there is a good chance he will be traded. Markkanen had an impressive season with the Jazz, averaging 23.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game while shooting nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc. Many believe he could be a great scoring option alongside Steph Curry and provide the Warriors with valuable size as a 7-footer.

In addition to Markkanen, the Warriors are also considering trades for Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls and Brandon Ingram of the New Orleans Pelicans. It is unclear who the Warriors will ultimately acquire in a trade, but Markkanen seems to be a potentially good fit for the team.
