Walt Disney World’s Test Track has recently closed to make way for the third version of the popular EPCOT thrill ride. The attraction shut down on Sunday, June 16, with construction walls already in place to block off the pavilion entrance. A Test Track poster with the tagline “Coming Soon” is displayed on the front construction wall. While Disney has not yet announced an official reopening date for the next-generation Test Track, it is estimated that the ride will remain closed for at least a year.

In a piece of concept art for Test Track 3.0, the new entrance marquee is depicted as a more sleek arrival area. Imagineers, in collaboration with Chevrolet, are drawing inspiration from the original World of Motion attraction to create a renewed sense of optimism for the updated Test Track experience at EPCOT. The current version of Test Track, version 2.0, was introduced in December 2012. As part of Chevrolet’s sponsorship agreement with Disney, the attraction is now in line for a refresh.

Disneyland Paris has also announced that Space Mountain: Mission 2 will be closing temporarily to make way for an all-new adventure at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Station. The park’s latest addition will feature new technology and interactive elements that will transport guests into a world of high-speed train travel through space and time. This exciting new experience is set to open later this year and promises to be unlike anything visitors have ever seen before.
