In FY2024, 1.4 million U.S. associates completed training on information security and digital citizenship, thanks to the efforts of Walmart’s Digital Citizenship team, which is led by the Chief Counsel of Digital Citizenship and reports to the Chief Legal Officer. The team ensures that Walmart upholds its Digital Trust Commitments while implementing new technologies and services to serve customers.

Meanwhile, Walmart’s Governance Structure includes a Board of Directors that delegates risk management oversight for information systems, information security, data privacy, and cybersecurity to the Audit Committee. The committee’s oversight of digital trust and cybersecurity can be found in Walmart’s 2024 annual report on Form 10-K.

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), who reports to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), leads Walmart’s Information Security organization and is responsible for the cybersecurity program. Dedicated teams of cybersecurity personnel assess, identify, monitor, detect, manage cybersecurity risks, threats, vulnerabilities and incidents under his/her leadership. To promote best practices, these teams provide regular information security and data privacy training to associates and selected third parties based on access, risk roles policies standards behaviors.
