In a new study conducted by personal finance website WalletHub, the World of Hyatt hotel loyalty program has been ranked as the best in the industry. The study evaluated the frequent-guest programs of the nine largest hotel chains based on 21 metrics, such as the value of accumulated points, blackout dates, and free hotel stays.

According to Cassandra Happe, analyst and communications manager at WalletHub, World of Hyatt stands out for its exceptional benefits across all spending levels and earns first place in earning policies and redemption options. The program provides higher rewards value per dollar spent and superior redemption flexibility compared to its competitors, making it a top choice for most travelers despite Wyndham Rewards having broader geographic coverage.

Sonesta Travel Pass offers the highest rewards value per dollar spent, while Best Western’s Rewards is unique in that it does not expire accumulated points due to account inactivity. However, members can still save an average of 10% in annual hotel spending by joining any of the top five hotel loyalty programs from Hyatt, Wyndham, Sonesta, Marriott, or Hilton.

One downside is that Marriott Bonvoy, Choice Privileges, and IHG One Rewards do not allow members to redeem points at all of their hotels. This lack of redeemable options reduces their appeal compared to programs with more choices for rewards redemption.

Overall, this study highlights the importance of evaluating different hotel loyalty programs when choosing where to stay or spend money on accommodations.
