Volodymyr Zelensky Reports Intense Fighting on Ukrainian Border as Russia Attempts to Infiltrate; Thirty Armed Clashes Occurred in Donetsk Region Over Past 24 Hours

As Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on Sunday, fighting was taking place in several villages in the northeastern Kharkiv region as Russian forces attempted to cross the border. In addition, he mentioned intense battles in various parts of the Donetsk region to the southeast.

Defensive battles were ongoing along large portions of the border in Kharkiv, where Russian forces initiated a significant armed breakthrough on Friday. Some villages had transitioned from a “grey zone” to a “hostilities zone” due to the fighting, according to Zelensky.

The president emphasized that the situation was no less severe in certain areas of the Donetsk region, which has been a focal point of Russia’s occupation of eastern Ukraine. He disclosed that there had been thirty armed clashes in the past 24 hours in various sectors, including Pokrovsk, northwest of Avdiivka, and in areas around Liman, Kupjansk, and Kramatorsk.
