Real Madrid’s head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, praised Vinicius Junior as the “best in the world” after his impressive performance in their recent 4-0 victory over Girona. The young Brazilian forward not only opened the scoring for Madrid but also provided assists for Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo Goes, contributing to their comfortable win.

Despite the overall team effort, it was Vinicius who caught Ancelotti’s eye following the match. When asked about the best players outside of Vinicius, Ancelotti mentioned Bellingham, Rodrygo, Valverde, Camavinga, and Kroos. However, when asked about Kylian Mbappe – a player from another team – Ancelotti simply replied that he had the best.

The victory over Girona was considered one of Madrid’s best performances and results of the season. Although there were concerns about Bellingham’s injury at full time, Ancelotti stated that he had a sprained ankle and that his availability for the next game would be assessed. Despite this setback, Ancelotti was pleased with the team’s performance and praised their comprehensive display in all aspects of the game. He also mentioned that the injury emergency increased the team’s defensive commitment.

Madrid will soon face RB Leipzig in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie. With Vinicius Jr leading from upfront and a strong defensive line behind him, Madrid is confident they can make it through to the knockout stages unscathed.
