The Vinh Phuc Department of Health has taken proactive measures to prepare for a potential increase in the number of people poisoned by setting up 1,000 beds and mobilizing medical staff for emergency treatment. The department has ensured that hospitals are equipped with all necessary resources including vehicles, hospital beds, medicines, chemicals, and supplies to provide timely emergency treatment and ensure patient safety.
As of May 15, the Vinh Phuc Provincial General Hospital is treating 67 patients, with most showing positive progress. The Lac Viet Vinh Yen Friendship Hospital has reported that most of the victims are in stable condition, with 76 mild cases discharged and 182 individuals still under monitoring at the hospital. Other medical centers in the area have also treated cases, bringing the total number of patients being treated to 336 people.
Following the incident, the Department of Food Safety has recommended the immediate suspension of Shinwon Ebenezer Vietnam Co., Ltd.’s kitchen and initiated an investigation to trace the origin of the food and ascertain the cause of the poisoning. The incident occurred during a lunch organized by Shinwon Ebenezer Vietnam Co., Ltd. for over 3,298 workers, leading to symptoms of food poisoning in several individuals.
