According to Vince Lombardi, the key to success in a team, company, society, and civilization is individual commitment to a group effort. This principle is exemplified by Shannon Proulx, LPN in RiverView Health’s Internal Medicine Department, and Dr. Bosun Fashoro. Together, they make an unstoppable team and effortlessly manage one of RiverView’s busiest practices. Recently, Shannon was recognized as Employee of the Month for May due to her dedication to teamwork.

Shannon’s journey at RiverView began in high school when she started working in the dietary department before earning her LPN. She then spent about five years at Glenmore Recovery (now RiverView Recovery Center) before transitioning to her current role at RiverView’s Crookston Clinic. Even after starting at the clinic, Shannon continued to work weekends at Glenmore for a few more years, showcasing her strong work ethic and commitment to helping others.

A native and resident of Crookston, Shannon shares her life with her significant other, Nate Magsam, and their blended family. They have children ranging from 16 to 24 years old and their dog Nelly. The family enjoys spending time at their cabin on Island Lake where Shannon finds respite and fulfills her dream of living by a lake full-time. In her free time, Shannon enjoys ice fishing, running and walking Nelly while cherishing moments with her loved ones.

Upon receiving the Employee of the Month recognition, Shannon expressed her surprise and gratitude for the award. She feels fortunate to work alongside some of the best nurses and doctors at RiverView and credits Dr. Fashoro as a mentor who has taught her valuable lessons over the years. Shannon’s dedication to teamwork and commitment to providing excellent care make her an invaluable asset to RiverView Health.

In conclusion, Vince Lombardi’s words ring true when it comes to individual commitment driving success in teams or groups
