These moves come as Villa’s co-owner, Nassef Sawiris, expressed his dissatisfaction with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, stating that they are not beneficial for football.
Sawiris noted that Villa voted against the introduction of these rules, which allow clubs to incur losses of up to £105m over a three-year period. The club’s stance on this matter reflects their commitment to operating in a financially responsible manner while remaining competitive in the Premier League.
