On Thursday, May 23 from 6-7:30 p.m., Veterans in Corpus Christi and surrounding areas are invited to join Valley Coastal Bend for a PACT Act town hall. The event will take place on the 2nd floor of 925 South Padre Island Drive in Corpus Christi, Texas.

The Corpus Christi VA West Point Clinic will host a VA health care enrollment event on the same day as the town hall. The purpose of the event is to inform Veterans, their families, and survivors about the PACT Act and encourage them to apply for the health care and benefits they have earned. VA announced that all Veterans who were exposed to toxins or other hazards while serving in the military are eligible to enroll directly in VA health care beginning March 5, 2024. This includes Veterans who served in the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Global War on Terror, or any other combat zone after 9/11. Veterans who never deployed but were exposed to toxins or hazards while training or on active duty in the United States will also be eligible to enroll.

Media interviews are available upon request and should be arranged by contacting Hugo Martinez at Hugo.Martinez@va.gov. Veterans are encouraged to attend both events and learn more about the benefits and health care services available to them.

It’s important for veterans living in Corpus Christi and surrounding areas to understand their rights under the PACT Act and how they can access healthcare services that they have earned through their service.

The town hall will provide an opportunity for veterans to connect with representatives from Valley Coastal Bend and get answers to their questions about how they can enroll for VA healthcare services under the PACT Act.

Don’t miss this opportunity!
