Vestas, a Danish wind turbine manufacturer, has announced a new organizational structure that aims to streamline operations and accelerate industrialization. The technology, manufacturing, and global procurement functions have been merged into a single unit called the technology and operations organization (CTOO), which will be led by Anders Nielsen, the current chief technology officer.

This restructuring is set to be fully implemented by the third quarter of 2024 and will focus on senior management positions. However, it is not expected to involve operational level changes. As a result of this change, Tommy Rahbek Nielsen, the current COO, has decided to explore opportunities outside the company after more than 25 years of service with Vestas.

Vestas’ Group President and CEO, Henrik Andersen, highlighted the importance of this organizational evolution in meeting customer commitments and achieving efficiency in ramp-up and industrialization efforts. This move demonstrates Vestas’ continued commitment to driving advancements in the renewable energy sector through innovative solutions and strategic partnerships.

Recently, Vestas secured a conditional agreement to supply wind turbines for a large-scale offshore wind project in Europe. The specific details of the client or project were not disclosed by the company. This move shows Vestas’ dedication to continuing its leadership role in the renewable energy industry and providing innovative solutions that help meet global energy demands.
