The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science is preparing for World Snake Day on July 19th with a special exhibit that will allow visitors to get up close and personal with snakes. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., visitors will have the opportunity to touch different snake species, with trained personnel on hand to ensure their safety.

Director Charles Knight emphasized the importance of being able to distinguish between venomous and non-venomous snakes, and research scientists will be available to answer questions for snake enthusiasts. There will also be crafts and educational activities for visitors of all ages.

Tickets for the event are now available, with admission prices set at $8 for adults, $7 for seniors (60+), $6 for youth (3-18), and free for children under the age of three. The World Snake Day exhibit is included in the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science Foundation Membership as well.
