Title: Assessing the Transition to Value-Based Care: A Subcommittee Hearing on CMMI

Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), Chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and Brett Guthrie (R-KY), Chair of the Subcommittee on Health, have announced a subcommittee hearing titled “Checking-In on CMMI: Assessing the Transition to Value-Based Care.” The purpose of the hearing is to evaluate the progress of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) and determine whether congressional intervention is necessary.

Established over a decade ago with the goal of improving health outcomes for patients while saving taxpayer dollars, CMMI has received significant funding and authority. However, despite these resources, the organization has yet to demonstrate successful outcomes. The hearing will provide members of Congress with an opportunity to hear from Elizabeth Fowler, Deputy Administrator and Director of CMMI at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, about the challenges faced in achieving their mission.

The hearing will take place on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM ET in 2123 Rayburn House Office Building. It will be open to the public and press and live streamed online at https://energycommerce.house.gov/. For any questions regarding the hearing, individuals can contact Emma Schultheis with Committee staff at Emma.Schultheis@mail.house.gov.
