The Ministry of Health in Israel faced criticism for its handling of side effects reported from the vaccine. The audit found that the computerized systems did not capture a significant portion of the reports, leading to incomplete investigations. Additionally, the Ministry did not process reports from the general public and faced challenges in monitoring side effects.

The vaccination rate in Israel was initially high, with 86% receiving the first dose. However, the rate dropped to 61% for the third dose. The report compares the vaccination rates in Israel to those in the European Union and globally, showing fluctuations over time.

The report also raised concerns about the Ministry’s handling of minor side effects such as chills and pain at the injection site. However, significant effects like menstrual disorders among women were not looked into promptly. Moreover, 33,000 reports received from the general public about side effects in 2021 were not processed by the Ministry.

In response to the report, the Ministry of Health highlighted its efforts to improve transparency and increase vaccination rates in Israel during a challenging time.
