UTSA’s Jeff Traylor has been named the top head coach in the American Athletic Conference for the 2024 season, according to senior college football writer and editor Steve Lassan. This recognition comes after an impressive record of 39-14 in his first four seasons at UTSA, making him the winningest coach in program history with a .736 winning percentage. Under his leadership, UTSA has achieved two conference championships, four straight bowl berths, and made 23 appearances in major national polls.
In the 2023 season, Traylor guided UTSA to a 9-4 record and a 7-1 mark in The American, culminating in the school’s first bowl victory in the 2023 Frisco Bowl. His coaching has resulted in numerous honors for UTSA student-athletes, including seven All-Americans, three national award finalists, 83 all-conference selections, and two NFL Draft picks.
UTSA’s success on the field is not only limited to athletic achievements but also extends to academic excellence. During Traylor’s tenure at UTSA, the team has received honors for academic achievement, including three College Sports Communicators Academic All-Americans, 12 Academic All-District Selections, and four conference all-academic team selections. In 2023, UTSA was one of only 13 FBS programs to receive the AFCA Academic Achievement Award for graduation success.
The upcoming 2024 season will see UTSA opening against Kennesaw State at the Alamodome on August 31st. Season tickets can be purchased online or by contacting the UTSA Ticket Office. Current UTSA football season-ticket holders can renew their tickets through their UTSA Account Manager. Season ticket packages start at $90 per seat, with payment plans available for all packages. UTSA students receive free admission to home games by downloading tickets through their Account Manager.
