The Utah Jazz have announced that they will be bringing back their purple, white, and sky blue mountain color scheme on their uniforms for the upcoming seasons. This decision is part of an evolution in their branding over the next two years as they introduce fans to “Mountain Basketball” while making purple the primary color for the franchise.

Governor Ryan Smith stated that this process is ongoing and reflects the growth of the team, the fanbase, and the game of basketball. He believes that this shift represents a clear identity for the Utah Jazz, aligning with the team’s internal goals, fans’ preferences, and players’ support.

The transition to the new color scheme will begin with the Utah Jazz wearing white and yellow Association Edition jerseys for the 2024-25 season. In 2025-26, they will wear Mountain Association Edition jerseys before phasing out black and yellow after that season with all four uniforms featuring the mountain scheme. The black and yellow Statement Edition jerseys will be worn until December when they will be replaced by new black jerseys with a mountain design in January. Additionally, purple Icon Edition jerseys will be introduced starting in 2025-26.

One notable change to the team’s branding is the J-note logo which will now be purple and “Utah Jazz” wordmark underneath removed which reflects their commitment to Mountain Basketball identity
