On Saturday, June 1, the US military successfully destroyed a Houthi unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the southern Red Sea. The incident took place between 9:00 and 19:30 Sanaa time. Centcom forces also witnessed two other drones falling into the Red Sea during this time.
In addition to this, between 7:00 and 9:30 p.m., the US military destroyed two Houthi anti-ship ballistic missiles in the southern Red Sea. These missiles had been launched towards the US warship Gravely and were destroyed in self-defense. Fortunately, no damage was reported on any American, coalition, or commercial vessels as a result of these actions.
Earlier, on May 31st, Ansar Allah (Houthis) had claimed responsibility for attacks on an aircraft carrier Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) and an American destroyer in the Red Sea. Yahya Saria, a representative of the Houthi armed forces made this announcement. The group also claimed attacks on commercial civilian vessels Maina, Aloraiq, and Abliani in the Indian Ocean and Red Sea using UAVs.
