The safe delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need in the Gaza Strip remains a concern for US Defense Department spokesman Major General Pat Ryder. Despite 569 tons of aid being unloaded at the floating pier built by the US military since May 17, there are still questions about how to ensure its safe and efficient delivery. Ryder mentioned that the US, UN, and Israel are collaborating to establish safe corridors for delivering the aid.

Recently, on May 21, aid was transported from the shore to warehouses in the sector, as previously, the cargo was stored directly on the shore. However, an attempt to remove aid for delivery was thwarted by local residents who looted it, as reported by CNN. Ryder acknowledged this incident of looting and highlighted the challenges in aid distribution.

The creation of the floating pier cost approximately $320 million, with plans to deliver 500 tons of cargo to the sector daily. This situation emphasizes the importance of finding effective ways to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need in the Gaza Strip.
