Uruguay’s Darwin Nunez has been in impressive form, scoring 12 goals in 24 games for his national team. In their Copa America campaign opener against Panama in Miami, Florida, Nunez found the back of the net to help secure a 3-1 victory for Uruguay. The Liverpool striker volleyed home a goal at the near post, doubling Uruguay’s lead after Ronald Araujo opened the scoring and Matias Vina added a third in added time. Panama managed to score a consolation goal through Michael Amir Murillo.

Uruguay manager Marcelo Bielsa expressed his aspirations for the team, stating that they will take each match as an opportunity to improve their level of play. With talented players on the squad, including Nunez, Uruguay is looking to build momentum and perform well in the Copa America.

In another Group C match, Bolivia lost 2-0 to the United States in their tournament opener in Arlington, Texas. Christian Pulisic was instrumental in the victory, scoring a goal and setting up another for his team. The United States put on a solid performance and will be looking to continue their momentum in the competition.
