Uría Menéndez recently served as legal counsel to Software AG during their sale of various technology platforms to IBM. This intricate transaction involved the divestiture of assets and simultaneous closings in over 50 jurisdictions. The Spanish subsidiary of Software AG played a critical role in many of these jurisdictions, acting as the parent company for businesses in several Latin American countries as well as Iberian businesses.

The legal team led by Pedro Ravina, Lorenzo de Benito Lobo, and Javier Churtichaga Doménech handled the transaction under Spanish law. They were supported by Catarina Tavares Loureiro, Marta Sampaio Pinto, and Inês Freitas De Almeida who advised on Portuguese law. Additionally, Daniel Cerrutti Buendía, Paula Alonso Barrera, and Belén Velasco Pardo provided guidance on labor and employment law aspects of the transaction.
