Elon Musk, CEO of both Tesla and SpaceX, is a self-proclaimed history buff who recently went live to share some of his favorite podcasts and audiobooks. He described himself as a “big history guy” and recommended several podcasts such as “The Explorers” and “Hardcore History.”

Musk highlighted the unique perspectives that narrative storytelling offers on reality, particularly in the context of historical events. Among the podcasts he recommended, “The Explorers Podcast” focuses on the lives of history’s greatest explorers while “The Age of Napoleon Podcast” delves into the life and career of Napoleon Bonaparte and the general context of Europe during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

In addition to podcasts, Musk also shared his favorite audiobooks, including “The Story of Civilization” by Will and Ariel Durant and the Penguin edition of “The Iliad.” These recommendations add to a growing list of books that Musk has endorsed over the years, covering genres such as science fiction and artificial intelligence.
