The T20 World Cup 2024 is now at its semi-final stage following an intense Super Eight phase. Afghanistan has emerged victorious in a nerve-wracking match against Bangladesh, eliminating Australia in the process. The four semi-finalists have been confirmed, with South Africa set to face Afghanistan and India taking on England.

The first semi-final between South Africa and Afghanistan will kick off at 8:30pm local time on Wednesday, June 26, at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba. Meanwhile, the second semi-final between India and England will be held at 10:30am local time on Thursday, June 27, at Providence Stadium in Guyana. Despite their Super Eight performance, India had been scheduled for the second semi-final and will begin their match at 8pm India time on June 27.

There are some differences in playing conditions for the two semi-finals. The second semi-final between India and England does not have a reserved day due to the limited gap between the match and the final. Each semi-final has a total of 250 additional minutes available. The first semi-final will have an extra 60 minutes at the end of the day and an additional 190 minutes on the reserved day. The second semi-final will utilize the full 250 minutes on the scheduled day.

For a game to be considered complete in the semi-finals and final, both teams must bat a minimum of 10 overs per innings as opposed to five overs per innings in other parts of the tournament. Rain is forecasted for both venues, and if there’s a washout during either game, then whichever team finished higher in their respective Super Eight groups (India and South Africa) will advance as winners. If there’s no play on either day due to poor weather conditions or any other reason, then both teams will be declared joint winners.

Fans can expect an exciting conclusion to this year’s T20 World Cup as they wait eagerly for these two thrilling matches that promise to deliver nail-biting finishes!
