Are you a healthcare startup in the pediatric or adolescent behavioral health space? If so, consider applying for the MedCity News’ startup pitch contest at the INVEST Digital Health conference at Pegasus Park in Dallas on September 18. This year’s contest category is focused on pediatric and teen behavioral health, reflecting the growing concern over mental health issues among young people in the United States.

According to data from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), nearly 20% of teens experienced a major depressive episode last year, and about 6.5% of U.S. teens formed a suicide plan in 2022. These statistics have led U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy to refer to the worsening mental health symptoms among American youth as a “defining public health crisis.”

The upcoming pitch contest aims to showcase startups that are dedicated to addressing this critical issue. Six finalists will be selected for the contest and given the opportunity to present their company to an audience of investors. The contest will be judged live by three venture capitalists who will ask questions of each presenter before selecting a winner.

There is no application fee for startups interested in applying for this contest, but selected startups will need to register for the event at a discounted rate of $149. To submit an application, click here by July 10th, and if accepted, you will be announced by August 2nd as one of six finalists chosen for this prestigious event at INVEST Digital Health Conference at Pegasus Park in Dallas on September 18th!
